This caricature was made some years ago, as a homage for the unforgettable Bezerra da Silva (*1927/+2005), one of the elders from the brazilian trademark on music: the "samba".
With an incomparable sense of humor and sagacity, he created a lot of popular lyrics which express the problems around the low classes of brazilian society (specially from Rio de Janeiro), including drugs, urban violence and social injustice. I'm a big fan of his work since my childhood, and for sure I'll keep enjoying his music for a long time. Bezerra, I salute you! |
